The authorities mentioned that the recently formed faction, suspected to stem from LeT, was purportedly under the supervision of a Pakistani terrorist coordinator.

Officials reported that on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, the Counter-Intelligence Wing (CIK) of Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted numerous raids across various districts in the valley. The aim of these operations was to disrupt a recently emerged militant group suspected to be linked to the proscribed outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

According to reports, the CIK initiated a significant operation by conducting raids in various districts such as Srinagar, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Kulgam, Budgam, Anantnag, and Pulwama.

A recruitment module belonging to a recently established terrorist group was dismantled during the operation, officials reported.

According to authorities, the recently formed faction, suspected to be a branch of LeT, is allegedly under the command of a Pakistani extremist coordinator identified by the pseudonym ‘Baba Hamas’.

They mentioned that the raids are ongoing with more information yet to be revealed.
