Authorities Implement Stage II of Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP)
Authorities have taken action against the rising pollution levels by implementing Stage II of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). Measures include banning the use of coal and firewood in restaurants, imposing a city-wide restriction on diesel generators, daily mechanical sweeping and water sprinkling on main roads, and enforcing rigorous dust control protocols at construction sites. Moreover, traffic police will oversee traffic congestion hotspots, parking fees will be increased to discourage private vehicle usage, and public transportation services will be enhanced with more buses and metro trains.
Public Announcement of Immediate Importance
Suggestions have been given to residents advising them to utilize public transportation, regularly change vehicle air filters, and restrict construction work during the period from October to January.
