Sule Denies Bitcoin Scam Allegations, Vows Legal Action Against BJP Leaders
According to Ravindranath Patil, the two stole bitcoins from a cryptocurrency scam case in 2018 and used them to finance the Maharashtra assembly election.
The BJP swiftly seized on Patil’s accusation and released alleged voice notes shortly after, accusing Supriya Sule and Nana Patole of being involved in a plot to use Bitcoins to sway the election.
But on the eve of the election, Sule claimed that these were “typical strategies of circulating misleading information to influence the righteous voters.”
She also complained about what she described as the false accusations of bitcoin misuse to the Maharashtra cybercrime department and the Election Commission of India. Patil and Gaurav Mehta, who were witnesses in the 2018 case, are the targets of her complaint.
The Baramati MP added that Sudhanshu Trivedi will receive a criminal and civil defamation notice from her attorneys.
It is disgusting that Mr. Sudhanshu Trivedi has made such unfounded accusations, but it is not shocking given that it is an obvious instance of disseminating misleading information the night before elections. For making blatantly fraudulent claims with the intention of misleading the public at large, my lawyer will be sending Sudhanshu Trivedi a criminal and civil defamation notice,” Sule said on X.
