According to sources familiar with the matter, Anmol Bishnoi has been added to the ‘most wanted’ list by the federal agency, with a reward of ₹10 lakh on his head.
Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of incarcerated criminal Lawrence Bishnoi, oversees their criminal operations from both Canada and the United States. He orchestrated assaults on NCP leader Baba Siddique in October and on actor Salman Khan’s home in April. Currently, he is a prime target for the National Investigation Agency.
According to sources familiar with the matter, Anmol Bishnoi has been added to the ‘most wanted’ list by the federal agency, with a reward of ₹10 lakh announced for his capture.
A lookout circular was recently issued by the Mumbai police against him, following his admission on social media to being responsible for the shooting that occurred outside Khan’s residence on April 14. Further investigations uncovered that the individuals involved in the murder of Baba Siddique had been communicating with him through Snapchat.
Siddique met his demise on October 12 outside his son Zeeshan’s workplace in Bandra East, falling victim to three armed attackers who inflicted three gunshot wounds upon him. Following this tragic event, Shubham Lonkar, an alleged affiliate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, took to social media to assert accountability for the heinous act.
According to an unnamed officer, Anmol Bishnoi and Goldy Brar manage the domain of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in the United States and Canada. They, along with a select group, supervise the criminal organization with the active involvement of key enforcers and operatives on the field in India. This oversight involves collaborating with various incarcerated gang leaders to intimidate and harass singers, industrialists, politicians, and athletes, among others, to extort money from them. In cases of non-compliance, they are willing to resort to threats and even violence, including eliminations and murders.
The organized group operates in various regions spanning Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Bihar, and Jharkhand. Overseas, primarily Anmol, Goldy Brar, and several other confidants of Lawrence oversee activities such as recruitment, compensating gang members, and facilitating the distribution of weapons.
A different officer mentioned, “Anmol is based in Canada but frequently travels to the US. He is now listed as one of our top targets, with a reward of ₹10 lakh offered for any details leading to his location.
The younger sibling of the incarcerated gangster, who is also recognized as ‘Bhanu’, was implicated in orchestrating an attack on singer Sidhu Moose Wala in May 2022. Lawrence Bishnoi has been incarcerated at Sabarmati prison since August of the previous year.
Anmol Bishnoi and Goldy Brar are believed to oversee the operations of pro-Khalistan groups like Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) in close connection with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, according to law enforcement agencies.
The NIA has labeled this network as the modern-day underworld. In a legal document submitted in March 2023 regarding the criminal activities of the gangsters, it highlighted that “the association of gangsters and PKEs with individuals from the music industry, singers, kabaddi players, and lawyers is reminiscent of the period before the 1993 Mumbai bombings, during which strong connections between the underworld, business community, and film industry were uncovered.
