The government’s stance, as articulated by the Chief Minister, is one of unfaltering commitment to combating crime and holding criminals accountable.

One of the key focuses of his administration, as highlighted by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday, is to ensure that criminals are apprehensive of the consequences of breaking the law.

The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s priority of enhancing law and order in the state and ensuring that criminals fear the law. This statement was made during the Chief Minister’s address at an event commemorating Police Commemoration Day held at Reserve Police Lines in Lucknow.

He added that, in light of this situation, the state authorities have implemented numerous crucial initiatives to boost the morale and effectiveness of the Uttar Pradesh Police while enhancing the resources available to the law enforcement personnel.

The policy of zero tolerance towards crime and criminals was emphasized by the Chief Minister.

According to him, measures have been implemented against 77,811 offenders, with 923 individuals apprehended under the Gangster Act. He mentioned that assets valued at around Rs 4,057 crore, acquired through illicit means by the underworld, criminals, and their associates, have been confiscated and reclaimed from unlawful control.

Shah addressed a gathering comprising senior officers, retired personnel, and families of police officers who bravely sacrificed their lives, emphasizing that although terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir have been effectively managed by our security forces in the last ten years, the fight is far from over. He reiterated our unwavering determination to eradicate terrorism, drug trafficking, and any actions against India.

Celebrated every year on October 21, Police Commemoration Day honors the brave officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service, with the focal event taking place at the National Police Memorial, typically under the auspices of the Union Home Minister.

The Police Commemoration Day Parade at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada saw the participation of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

In Mumbai, Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar honored the memory of police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty by laying a wreath on Police Commemoration Day.

Paying homage to police personnel who bravely gave their lives in service, Maharashtra DGP Rashmi Shukla also placed a wreath during the ceremony.
