In Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the IPL 2025 Player Auction is scheduled to take place over two days on November 24 and 25, with a participation of 1,574 players, comprising 1,165 Indian players and 409 overseas players.

The schedule for the IPL 2025 mega auction was revealed by the BCCI on Tuesday. A whopping 1,574 players, comprising 1,165 Indian cricketers and 409 international players, are set to participate in the forthcoming IPL 2025 Player Auction. The auction is slated to take place over a span of two days on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Noteworthy statistics from the player pool include 320 capped players, 1,224 uncapped players, and 30 representatives from Associate Nations. Interestingly, according to a report by ESPN Cricinfo, the absence of Ben Stokes from the extensive list of registered players raised eyebrows.

After discussions with the franchises, the extensive list is set to undergo reductions. According to the report, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants, and Kolkata Knight Riders have released Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer as captains respectively, listing them with a base price of Rs 2 crore. Additionally, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal, both spinners not retained by Rajasthan Royals, are also placed at the same base price level.

Among the Indian cricket stars who have set their base price at Rs 2 crore, we have James Anderson, Khaleel Ahmed, Deepak Chahar, Venkatesh Iyer, Avesh Khan, Ishan Kishan, Mukesh Kumar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Prasidh Krishna, T Natarajan, Devdutt Padikkal, Krunal Pandya, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, and Umesh Yadav.

Both Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan are set at a starting price of Rs 75 lakh.

Ben Stokes, the ex-captain of Rajasthan Royals, is notably absent from the extensive roster of 1574 players. Kolkata Knight Riders secured Mitchell Starc for a whopping Rs 24.50 crore in the 2024 auction, starting with a base price of Rs 2 crore.

As England bids farewell to the great James Anderson from international cricket, the seasoned player, who has yet to showcase his skills in the IPL, enters the auction with a starting price of Rs 1.25 crore.

In the ILT20 in the UAE, MI Emirates has recently selected Thomas Draca, a player from Italy, who is part of the extensive roster.
