  • Authorities claim that the latest attire is associated with the outlawed Lashkar-e-Taiba group.
  • Authorities have discovered an ensemble managed by the Pakistani extremist known as ‘Baba Hamas’.

Officials reported on Tuesday that security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have dismantled a recently emerged militant group suspected to be a splinter group of the proscribed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

According to officials, the J&K police’s Counter-Intelligence Wing (CIK) recently launched a significant operation, undertaking raids in various districts such as Srinagar, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Kulgam, Budgam, Anantnag, and Pulwama.

The police reported that they disrupted an organization known as ‘Tehreek Labaik Ya Muslim’ (TLM), suspected to be linked to the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

According to officials, ‘Baba Hamas,’ a Pakistani terrorist handler, was said to be in control of the attire.

They mentioned that the raids are ongoing, and more information is expected.

Following an attack in Ganderbal district that resulted in the tragic deaths of a doctor and six migrant workers, the anti-terror operation took place the next day. The responsible outfit, the Resistance Front (TRF), linked to Lashkar, purportedly claimed accountability for the attack.

Security forces have identified Sheikh Sajjad Gul, the leader of TRF and a Srinagar resident, as the brains behind the attack. Sources revealed that the group has been carrying out attacks on both Kashmiris and non-Kashmiris for an extended period. In 2022, the NIA offered a reward of Rs 10 lakh for any information that could lead to the apprehension of Gul and three accomplices.

In a collaborative mission on October 30, the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police successfully apprehended two terrorists, Abdul Aziz and Manwar Hussain, implicated in various assaults within the area. The capture took place in Surankote, located in the Poonch district.

Numerous acts of terrorism have occurred in the Union Territory over the recent months, resulting in the loss of lives of security forces. Additionally, several terrorists have been killed in encounters.
